FAQ Answer:

Question:

if I don't submit my web site to the search engines, will they still list it?

Answer:

Probably not!

We not only promote web sites, but we design and create web sites.

We have clients who are not interested in website promotion, but maintain web sites only for the purpose of institutional advertising. That is, they want to put their website address on their stationery so that their clients can access it. In other words they are only interested in the prestige that they gain by having a website.

When we create these web sites we usually put in meta tags that will support future promotion in the event the client desires it later. Some of these sites have been in existence for years. If the sites are not submitted to the Search Engines we rarely find them on the search engines and if we do, their presence is usually limited. In addition we know of no literature (and we subscribe to most of it) that indicates that currently, the major search engines seek out un-submitted web sites to list. Further, it simply makes no sense. The search engines can hardly keep up with the submissions that are currently being made. Yahoo, for instance, can take up to six months to even look at a website in order to determine whether or not they will accept. Further, the trend is beginning to be that the search engines char even consider a site in a timely fashion or at all.

However, most of the popular Web search engines still provide a way for you to add your own URL.
